It Happened

September 20, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Finally, after all the stress of worrying about the darn things, it finally happened.
Not to me, no, it happened to my poor Elijah.

The boys were finally folding and hanging their clothes that have been sitting in clothes baskets for 4 days… because I refuse to waste my time (another story)…

Elijah stuck his hand into a shirt and cried, “Ow! I feel like something poked me and it stings really bad!”

I jumped up, grabbed my remedy kit and had him dosed before Ronnie gave the, “Yes, that’s what it is.” answer.

A scorpion. No allergic reaction like the neighbor, thank the Lord, just a sting. I gave him Apis 30C at first, but after a few minutes the pain had only dulled. So, I administered Apis 200C. It worked. In 5 minutes the swelling had gone, the redness was fading and the sting site was nearly invisible.

A few minutes later he complained of a tingling sensation in his hand. I promptly gave him Hypericum 200C. To his utter delight, the tingling stopped and he is back to normal.

I’m so glad we learned all about Homeopathy. Without it I would have been calling poison control in a panic. Now, with homeopathic remedies, we are on top of things. Even if we cannot cure with the remedies, we can delay the effects of trauma and poison until medical attention can arrive.

Praise the Lord.

News

September 15, 2009 · 5 Comments

I just saw this on Yahoo news.

This paragraph:

“I have enormous respect for the Masons,” Brown told The Associated Press during a recent interview. “In the most fundamental terms, with different cultures killing each other over whose version of God is correct, here is a worldwide organization that essentially says, `We don’t care what you call God, or what you think about God, only that you believe in a god and let’s all stand together as brothers and look in the same direction.’

is the one that shocked me the most. Not that I didn’t already know that freemasons believe this, just that I’m surprised that so many Christians associate themselves with freemasonry.

The very fact that freemasons say all gods take you in the same direction is against Christianity at its core. Christ said there is only ONE way to the Father, and that is through Him. No other way can lead you to Yahweh God. We cannot stand together as brothers with those who believe in other gods. It just cannot work that way.

You may find this site very interesting. Articles as you scroll down explain freemasonry.

Craigslist Drama

September 14, 2009 · 2 Comments

So, I responded to a craigslist ad on Saturday about an adorable little kitten being given away. I got this response:

Thanks for the inquiry, but we found a good non christian home to give the kitten to.

My eyes have been opened to the new world of free kitties. Perhaps I should put an ad up for a free Christian kitty.

PCOS: A girl’s blog

September 12, 2009 · Leave a Comment

So, guys, take a hike!

Okay, so a month ago, I mentioned my PCOS and taking Chasteberry to remedy it. I began taking the tincture morning and evening and did this for 1 week between the end of my period and ovulation.
First, I’ll say I definitely noticed ovulation this month. Other months the vaginal mucous has not been so proficient, but this month, definitely ovulatory.

Well, I gave no more thought to the Chasteberry, also called Vitex (the latin name of the plant), and went on with my daily life.
I started my period on day 31! Girls, I haven’t had a 30 day cycle in over a decade!!! The downfall is that I feel absolutely drained. Almost as if I were pregnant, that beginning exhaustion and nausea, so I’m pretty sure it’s all hormonal, and I’m actually glad of it. That means all my hormones are coming into order and perhaps with that come weight loss and a feeling of normalcy!
We shall see.

Since the tincture is in an alcohol base, and absolutely offensive to my flavor receptors, I picked up the dry herbal capsules today. I’ll be trying those this month and continuing them through the entire month.

For more information on how Vitex (aka: Chasteberry) can help PCOS and other menstrual problems, check out this site.

That is the question proposed and answered in this article.

Here is another good article. And here, here, here and here.

Post Script: I did not write any of these articles. They are only here for your viewing and to help you delve deeper into the scripture. Blessings!

Fret Knot

September 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

That place between your eyebrows. You know the one! The one you are always trying to smooth out in the mirror. Yep! That one.

It’s not helping, you know. It’s only making you fret more, thus making the “Fret Knot” even more distinct.

So stop it already!

A Lesson in Womanhood

September 1, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Proverbs 31:10-12 [Amplified]

A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman–who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls. The heart of her husband trusts in her confidently and relies on and believes in her securely, so that he has no lack of honest gain or need of dishonest spoil. She comforts, encourages, and does him only good as long as there is life within her.

Someone once told me that the Proverbs 31 woman is not a real woman, that we can never really be that woman, but only strive to be the best wife and mother we can be in our present day and situation.
Hogwash!

Capable. Intelligent. Virtuous. That is the beginning of this chapter and the summation of the lesson.
So, how do we make ourselves capable, intelligent and virtuous? The rest of the chapter describes how to attain those goals. {See Proverbs 31 here}
Capable: the Proverbs 31 woman works with willing hands [v13], girds herself with strength [v17], lays her hand to the spindle [v19], makes for herself coverlets, cushions and rugs of tapestry. Her clothing is of linen, pure and fine, and of purple… [v22], she makes fine linen garments and leads others to buy them [v24].
Intelligent: she rises while it is yet night and gets spiritual food for her household and assigns her maids their tasks [v15], she considers a new field before she buys or accepts it… [v16], her lamp goes not out, [v18], strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure [v25], she opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness giving counsel and instruction [v26], she looks well to how things go in her household, and the bread of idleness she will not eat [v27].
Virtuous: she tastes and sees that her gain from work with and for God is good [v18], she opens her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her filled hands to the needy whether in body, mind or spirit [v20], she fears not… [v21], her husband is known in the city’s gates… [v23], she rejoices over the future the latter day or time to come, knowing that she and her family are in readiness for it! [v25], her children rise up and call her blessed: and her husband boasts of and praises her saying, Many daughters have done virtuously, nobly, and well with the strength of character that is steadfast in goodness, but you excel them all. Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain because it is not lasting, but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised! Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates of the city! [v28-31].

If we truly study this scripture, God will reveal to us its depth of meaning. Is every woman a seamstress? Does every woman have servants? No! But, every woman is given a skill, a gifting, a talent. Use it for the glory of God, and you will be blessed, just as the Proverbs 31 woman is blessed.
Does every woman have the same intelligence? Certainly not. Why, I have a different intelligence than my sister, but that doesn’t make either of us stupid. We just have different knowledges that God has gifted us with, and if we cultivate them and expand on them, God will give the increase and the Wisdom.
Has every woman lived a virtuous life? According to the standards of this world, hardly. Does that mean that we cannot be the P31 woman? Of course we can. Reread the scriptures on virtuosity. It says nothing of her past. She has made an excellent life for her husband and children and is industrious and godly. That is what makes her virtuous. She, most likely, learned at an early age that sin is fun for a season, and God was gracious to allow her to come into her virtuosity.
Does that mean that young women shouldn’t strive for virtuousness? Quite the contrary. We should strive for it and teach our children to strive for it as well. How do we teach our children? By example.

So, ladies, how do you compare to the Proverbs 31 woman? Will you strive to be the Proverbs 31 woman God has called you to be?

Glenn Beck

August 24, 2009 · 2 Comments

Now, I like Glenn Beck. Sometimes he can be a little lot controversial, but I like him. He’s funny, he speaks the truth, and he gets to the bottom of things.

Now, a couple months back when he started to do his research on Acorn, I though, “Uh oh! He better watch out!” And look at what’s happening now.
Advertizers are requesting that their ads either not be shown on Beck’s show, or they pull them from Fox News entirely. You gotta be kidding me!
To top it all off, there is no complete list of those advertizers. I’ve looked, but I can’t find a complete list.
Among those pulling ads are WalMart (big surprise), CVS, GEICO, and SC Johnson. I’d like a complete list, please!
What I would like to do is to write these companies, explain to them my opinion of their cowardice, advise them that I will be boycotting their products until they stop boycotting Beck.
Sound fair? I’m sure that their are millions of people who do not like Beck, and do not watch him. Why would advertizers pull out of a conservative show that conservatives watch. Don’t they want conservatives to buy their products as well? Guess not.
