Blessings in disguise?

Well, we traded in our 12 passenger van this week for a Chevy Venture. The Venture has seating for 8, and we lowered our payments–big plus!
So, we bought the van on Thursday (a ridiculously busy day) and enjoyed it for three whole days. Then the altenator went out and back to the dealership we went!.
But, praise the Lord, it happened in the first 30 days, covered by a limited warranty, free loaner, and everything is paid for. We don’t have to pay a penny. Well, except for $12 to have Firestone check it out.

So, new van, new baby girl, what’s next, Lord?!

So…

So, I’m reading this blog just now, and I realize how terribly I’ve treated my boys.
I admit, I get very frustrated with their noises. Do all boys behave this way, or is God playing some cruel trick on me?
The constancy of the noise is what drives me most insane, and the constancy of me asking them to stop making said noise.

However, when I think of Jesus being like any other boy, I must remember that He probably acted the same way. He was, after all, a BOY.
I wonder if Mary had to ask Jesus to stop making noises as the caravanned through Jerusalem. I wonder how she managed not to lose patients with any of her boys. They must have been rough, like mine. They must have loved to wrestle and rough house, like my boys. They must have gotten sweatty and smelly, like my boys.

It amazes me how quickly a boy can begin to stink. Melody played outside longer than the boys today, and she didn’t stink. The boys had to take a shower, but she was fine. AMAZING!

Why does God make us so unique, do you ever wonder?

The Bible says that Mary ‘pondered all these things in her heart.’ Does that mean that she remembered every detail? Did she remind herself that He wasn’t sinning, that He was just being a boy? Did she question her intentions when disciplining Him? Did she have to discipline Him at all? How hard was it for her to just let Him be a boy while simultaneously guiding Him to His destiny?

Quickening

For those of you mom’s out there, don’t you just love that first little dance you feel from your little one inside you?
I’ve been asked many times by women who have no children if it feels weird to have a being moving around inside of me. I actually love it. Knowing that the child within is protected and growing under my care and cannot be influenced by those outside. Like a cocoon protecting him or her from the world that is to come.

So, just a few minutes ago, I was sitting on my knees (not good for circulation mind you) and I felt the little baby dance. I was so excited, but didn’t say anything. Ronnie’s not home this evening til late, and the kids wouldn’t quite understand yet, since they cannot see baby moving yet. So, like any other self respecting bloggin’ momma, I decided to tell you all!

Feeling pretty good these days, except the daily back ache from trying to lift too much. Makes me feel old, but I know it’s just a combination of many things. Anyway, next week is the big anatomy scan! Anyone else care to guess? So far I’ve gotten five responses:

:o )mg says it’s a boy.
Dad says it’s a girl. (Dad’s not been wrong yet!)
Mario says it’s a girl. (I’m told Mario’s never been wrong.)
Misty says it’s a girl.
Mandy says it’s a boy.

So, what do you think?

Brittany Spears needs Jesus

September 10, 2007 · 1 Comment

So, I just watched her very poor performance at the VMA’s, and this child is in need of a Savior.

She is so out of touch here, that it is obvious she is dealing with something. Lipsinking, out of step with her dancers.
Besides the blatant display of a ‘near orgy,’ she performed rather poorly. At least much poorer than she’s ever performed before.
Is she on drugs? Is she wasted? Is she depressed?

She is a child, and she needs Jesus. It saddens me to see anyone in this state, and what is saddest of all is that she is sharing her life with the world, and the world cares not.
