Wow! Only 9 weeks to go. But if you consider I’ll be having a cesarean, it’s only 8 weeks. Woohoo! I’m so ready for delivery.
Although, lately, I’ve been able to feel exactly where her little rump is. She gets into this cradle position with her head in my right hip, and her bottom in my left side. She then extends her legs as hard as she can so as to kick me in my diaphram.
Sweet little girl, just like Melody!

Weekly dinner menu?
November 29, 2007 · Leave a Comment
So, I’m thinking about posting a weekly menu from the HEB meal deal of the week.
For any Texans out there reading this blog, you are familiar with HEB and the weekly meal deal. This week it’s buy a roast (or something) and get lots of free stuff.
So, I thought about posting weekly for the meal deal, telling how I double everything for the family of 6, and letting you all enjoy the meal with me.
Some weeks, HEB has more than one meal deal. On those weeks, I’ll make two dinner menus. That will give you plenty of ideas to mull over, and if you don’t have an HEB, I’ll be sure to list all the goodies that go into the meal deal for you.
So. Whatcha think?

Employees

I was just bummed that we wont be able to get the kids very much this Christmas. Then I remembered that we need to buy gifts for all my Beloved’s employees. Oh joy!
So, they may be getting some homemade brownies or something. Cause they’ll be cuttin’ into the kids gifts this year.

My blunder
November 27, 2007 · 1 Comment
Today I received an email from a friend. I should have researched it before forwarding it, however, I am posting the link to the news story here: Snopes.com.
Although there was some truth to her email, I wanted to post the news story from February of this year. Her point was that we don’t see these protests on the news, only the ones against the war in Iraq. We need to remember that while Christians believe differently from other religions, we still must love, despite what we hear and see on the news or in reports like this.
So, if you are one of the people on my email list, or if you’ve received this forward yourself, there is some truth to it. But as with all news, we must look at it in context!

Whinese
November 27, 2007 · 1 Comment
There is a new language my toddler is using. It is Whinese.
He has been using it for a couple of weeks now, and today it hit me. Don’t speak to him!
Duh! With every other child at this stage of whining, I just told them, “I don’t speak Whinese. You’ll have to speak English if you want to talk to me.”
It’s always worked before. We’ll see about Levi.
His constant, “I want to do this (insert whiny voice),” or “I want to go to Nanna PawPaw’s house,” is driving me insane.
So, today I decided to ignore him. I just am not going to tolerate the whining.
Hopefully by Christmas he will be speaking English only.

10 weeks to go…
November 23, 2007 · 2 Comments
We had a great Thanksgiving yesterday, aside from the fact that my dear sister could only stay for about a half hour.
Lots of food. The kids ate way too much sugar. Lots of fun talk about crazy relatives!
Seems when you start enlarging the family as we have, everyone wants to be around one another more often. I’m lovin’ it.
I am the second oldest grandchild on my mom’s side of the family, and I have the most kids. There’s only one other grandchild with children, and he’s just got one six month old boy. But his little boy is a cutie!
Anyway, it’s fun to see our family enlarging again.

Only two weeks…
November 20, 2007 · 2 Comments
and then the children go on vacation! With their grandparents! Out of state!
I sooooo need a break. But what they don’t know is that for Christmas I am going to paint their rooms! The week they are gone I will paint the house! Pink for Melody, Red and Blue for the big boys who share a room, and something for Levi.
When I think of Levi, I always think of the ‘Lion and the Lamb’ theme. I’m just not sure what colors would go along with that theme. Perhaps something neutral and then add the decor to it. I’ll actually have to create most of his decor, since I’ve never seen any Lion and Lamb bedroom decor.
The big boys are going nautical. What better way to combine red and blue, other than turning everything purple, which I don’t think they’d appreciate very much.
Melody has a princess theme. Her bedspread is ‘Bohemian Princess.’ It will grow with her, unlike the Disney Princess theme that I don’t necessarily like. She will love the dusty rose color I have chosen, and I may even paint her dresser to match! Not pink mind you, but perhaps a nice desert sand color.
Sofia will be in our bedroom for the remainder of our time in this house, unless we move her to Mel’s room when she begins sleeping through the night. Our room will be a calming dark olive green. My bedding is burgundy and gold, so this will make a nice contrast. I love those three colors together!
Anyway, I’ll photo everything as I go and post before and after pictures each day. I’ll be doing one room a day, so this should be fun!
Enjoy your holiday!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree…

How skinny are thy branches!
Although you can’t tell from this photo, our tree is decorated in silver and blue. Very lovely.
And…..I found a great wrapping paper from TDJ Enterprises that reads, “Jesus is the gift that keeps on giving.”
You can find it at Wal*Mart. It is blue with white writing and stars. Can you tell I have a theme this year?
