My Cup Runneth Over
June 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Yesterday. It rained.
Well, really it sprinkled, but it sprinkled for a long while.
We met someone who’s moving in a few doors down. He and his wife have five children. Three boys, two girls. They homeschool. They don’t take their children to the doctor. They grow their own herbs and vegetables.
Today. Ronnie had another interview.
The person he interviewed with just became a manager.
The territory he covers is where we live and attend church.
He really likes Ronnie and is certain Ronnie is the right person for the job.
All things work together for the good of those who love Him.

In a Handbasket Headed to Hell

What were they thinking?
Do they think we aren’t watching?
Do they think we don’t know what they are doing?
1200 pages, folks!
Yep. That’s the size of the energy bill passed in the House today.
300 of those pages where added last night! Last night!
Do they all expect us to believe that all 406 representatives have read and understand this bill?
Here’s a little about it:
Under the bill, the government would limit heat-trapping pollution from factories, refineries and power plants. However, it also would distribute pollution allowances that could be bought and sold, depending on whether a facility exceeded the cap or made greater pollution cuts than were required.
There was widespread agreement that under this cap-and-trade system, the cost of energy would almost certainly increase. But Democrats argued that much of the impact on taxpayers would be offset by other provisions in the bill. Low-income consumers would qualify for credits and rebates to cushion the impact on their energy bills.
Two reports issued this week — one from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office and the other from the Environmental Protection Agency — seemed to support that argument.
The CBO analysis estimated that the bill would cost an average household $175 a year; the EPA put it at between $80 and $110 a year.
Republicans questioned the validity of the CBO study and noted that even that analysis showed actual energy production costs increasing $770 per household. Industry groups have cited other studies showing much higher costs to the economy and to individuals.
Could somebody please send them an actuary?

It is so hot here our electricity bill has doubled in a month! Doubled!
In other news:
Ronnie has another interview with an insurance company on Tuesday. These companies like interviewing on Tuesdays, don’t they?
I’ve started a goat registry, and have some prospective members already. That should generate a small income for us, that will hopefully bloom into something more.
Sofia is walking!
Boys are through with school.
Melody is using starfall.com, and loving it. She is a super student as she craves to learn. I don’t remember the older two being this way. Maybe its a girl thing.

gDiapers

I started using gDiapers about a year ago. Sofia was allergic to nearly every disposable diaper on the market, and cloth diapers kept too much moisture next to her skin as well.
Recently, gDiapers has introduced a new 6 pack of gDiaper covers, liners, and a set of refills. Hurry on over to gDiapers.com and order your set today.
Be sure to use the code: g694Jones for $30 off the set!

Rearranging
June 22, 2009 · 4 Comments
It was only a matter of time before I committed a day to reorganizing and rearranging our master bedroom.
When we moved in, everything was just thrown into our room. I happen to be a very organized person, and boxes that Ronnie and I packed were labeled with room and furniture item they belonged with or to. We had other people helping us that did not label boxes. Not that I’m complaining, not at all, we are so very grateful (Mom… Dad) for the help.
However, the move, the children’s schooling, the goats, Ronnie leaving his job…
My bedroom has been out of order for 8 months!
So, today was the day!
Oh, its still a mess right now, but I can guarantee come Friday, our master bedroom will be nicely organized AND clean! Yay!

Honor
June 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Honor your father and mother and you will have a good, long life. This is the first command with a promise.
No where in the Bible does it say, “Honor your father and mother if they are good,” or “…if they gave you everything you wanted.” It simply commands us to honor them. The promise of a good long life ought to be enough for children everywhere to honor those that begat them.
Unfortunately, most adults only complain about their parents. Doesn’t anyone believe their parents did the best they could with what they had, the knowledge they had, the upbringing they had, the advice of the day? I sure do.
I may not agree with everything about the way my parents raised me, but I am honored to be their child. I pray they feel honored by me.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad.

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy 6th Birthday to Melody Joy! She is becoming quite the little lady.
Strawberry cake and a Tinker Bell puzzle. Looking to buy her a Hooked on Phonics Kindergarten set, and perhaps another Little People set. She likes the Little People Bus!
Congratulations my beautiful little girl!
